The Mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulín Cruz Soto, announced the extension of the cancellation of all cultural, sports, educational activities and entertainment events in the capital city until May 30, as part of efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus (Covid- 19).

Its determination comes after the Secretary of the Department of Health, Lorenzo González, pointed out that the peak period of contagion on the Island could occur between April 15 and May 8.

“We know the impact that these measures have, but it is much more important to save lives and minimize the impact of contagion in San Juan and Puerto Rico,” said the mayor in written statements.
